DEPUTY JACOB CONNER IS NEW PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY POLICING OFFICER

Meet Kent County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Conner, the new Plainfield Township Community Policing Officer.

As a community police officer, Deputy Conner works directly with Township issues and help build relations between law enforcement and the community.  He is a communication link between law enforcement and the Township government, schools, churches, businesses, and organizations.

Deputy Conner hosts Coffee With a Cop every Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Versluis Park.  He provides coffee and talks with residents about how to prevent and reduce crime in their neighborhoods, answers questions about recent incidents in the area, and listens to residents’ concerns.  Anyone is welcome to attend and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Deputy Conner is from Belmont and graduated from Rockford High School.  He has a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement from Ferris State University.  Deputy Conner worked for the City of Kentwood Police Department before joining the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.  Besides community policing, he is a member of a number of specialty units at the Sheriff’s Department, including the tactical unit, field training, and honor guard.
